ਕੁਝ ਪਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਸੀ.. ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ..

ਸਾਡੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਐ .. ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ..
ਅਸੀਂ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਪਰ ਸਾਡੀ ਜਾਤ ਇੱਕਸਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ…

English Transliteration:
main samajh lavan
ki mere layee toon…
hava da ikk jhokaa c.. bahaar nahin…
baarish deean chand boondaan c .. malhaar nahin..
kujh palan di saanjh c.. pyaar nahin..
kyon?
kyonke..
saade maapiaan da sabh kujh milda aai .. sanskaar nahin..
asin haan taan manukh, par saadi jaat iksaar nahin…
main samjh lavan..
saadi kujh palan di saanjh c.. pyaar nahin..
English Translation:
I might accept
that for me, you were
a gush of wind, and not a season of spring
splutter of raindrops, and not a downpour
just an acquaintance and not beloved
why?
because
our parents have everything in common, but not the customs
though we are human , but casts are not alike
I might accept
that it was an acquaintance of sometime, not love
Source : Wrote it a year back, a friend was going through this. Another friend told his similar story, So could not help posting it.
Indian society is getting liberal but caste hierarchies are deep rooted .We inherit thousands years of casteist history.

ਬਹੁਤੇ ਪਿਆਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ “ਸਾਂਝ” ਦਾ ਉਤਲਾ ਸੁਨਿਹਰੀ ਵਰਕ ਲਾਹ ਦੇਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਖ਼ਦਗਰਜੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਮੰਨੂ ਦੀ ਮੋਹਰ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਦਿਖੇਗੀ। ਯਕੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਇਹ 21ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਏ…..ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਰਚਨਾ !
finding security by following customs and prejudices has been man’s longtime compulsions. fear of change is another reason.
poem uses simple words and says much.
if the english versions were not there i wud have been unable to decipher their meaning.
