ਚੁੱਪ ਦੀ ਕੁਟੀਆ
ਰੁੱਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਚੁੱਪ
ਇਸੇ ਲਈ
ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਰੰਗ
ਫਲਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਨੇ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਰਸ
ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਚੁਣਿਆਂ ਇਹਨੂੰ
ਆਪਣੇ ਆਲ੍ਹਣਿਆਂ ਖਾਤਰ
ਮੈਂ ਲੰਬੇ ਤੇ ਥਕਾਵਟ ਭਰੇ ਸਫ਼ਰ ‘ਚ
ਰੁਕਦਾਂ
ਘੜੀ-ਪਲ਼
ਇਹਦੀ ਛਾਂ ਹੇਠ
ਜੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਨਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ
ਬਿਖਰੇ ਪੈਂਡਿਆਂ ‘ਤੇ
ਮੈਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਰਦਾ
ਚੁੱਪ ਕਿਥੇ ਵਾਸ ਕਰਦੀ …।।
Abode of Silence
Roots of a tree
Bear
A deep Silence
This is how
Flowers have so many colors
Fruits have infinite flavors
This is why
Birds chose it
As their abode
After a long and tiring journey
I
Stop
For a while
In its shade
If the tree was not there
How could have I walked on
Arduous paths
Where would have silence lived!
