ਮੇਰੀ ਵੀ ਕੀ ਿਜ਼ੰਦਗੀ ਸੀ, ਇੱਕ ਬੂਰ ਸਰਕੜੇ ਦਾ |
ਆਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸੇਕ ਕਾਫੀ, ਤੀਲੀ ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਨਾ ਲਾਇਓ |

ਵਲਗਣ ‘ਚ ਕੈਦ ਹੋਣਾ , ਮੇਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁਆਿਫਕ |
ਯਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਂਗ , ਅਰਥੀ ਤੇ ਹੀ ਜਲਾਇਓ |

ਹੋਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ, ਸੜ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਇੱਕ ਵੇਰਾਂ |
ਜਦ ਜਦ ਢਲੇਗਾ ਸੂਰਜ , ਕਣ ਕਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਜਲਾਇਓ |

ਜੀਵਨ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਤਾਈਂ, ਆਉੰਦੇ ਬੜੇ ਚੁਰਾਹੇ |
ਿਜਸ ਦਾ ਪੰਧ ਿਬਖੇੜਾ, ਓਸੇ ਹੀ ਰਾਹ ਜਾਇਓ |

Sant Ram Udaasi was one of the greatest punjabi poets of “Jujhaaru” era,
along with Paash, Lal Singh Dil, Amarjit Chandan and others ..
He was from ‘dalit’ background and was part of many people’s movement’s in mid Seveneties,including naxalite movement..
